Arrests at Gillette Stadium and Other Public Gatherings

There's No Substitution For Experience

As the New England Patriots are preparing for the beginning of the 2013 NFL season, security at Gillette Stadium is also ramping up security. However, Gillette Stadium serves other purposes than just being a venue for professional football. Concerts put on by Jon Bon Jovi and Taylor Swift will also pull in around 53,000 fans per concert.

As one police chief in the area stated, when you have several thousand fans in attendance there are bound to be a few arrests taking place. The majority of the arrests at these concerts will involve individuals under the age of 21. At one particular concert, there were 118 customers taken into custody, and 41 were arrested for underage drinking. The take away from that is that many of the arrests were for other claims than alcohol-related offenses.

Young people seem to flock to events where a large number of arrests are taking place. Many of the arrests are for alleged property crimes such as theft or vandalism. As we mentioned in a prior post, individuals are often arrested at various gatherings simply for being present. This does not mean that there was any evidence of wrongdoing on the part of those individuals. Too often individuals arrested just happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time.

Anytime anyone is arrested for a property crime that person will need an attorney that will aggressively fight the charges. Though not all charges can always be dismissed, there still may be other legal options. In certain cases, this may mean making a deal with prosecutors to reduce the sentence. What is important is that each person charged receives the independent representation of an experienced criminal defense attorney.
